How to Make a Patriotic Ribbon Wreath Buy a Styrofoam wreath, 16" or your choice of the size. First make the
hanger by poking two holes, 1" apart through the styrofoam wreath. Thread
string through the holes and tie in the back. Purchase red/white/blue curly bows from GiftWrapGifts.com or the the spools of curling ribbon at 500 yds. Cut 4 (20" lengths) of each color (12 strands total). Tie each group at center with an extra curling ribbon. You will need 70- 80 groups of ribbon. You will curl the ribbon by dragging over a sharp scissor blade. Hold the center of ribbon tie when curling from the center down. Place a straight pin through the center of your curly bow and push pin into the stryrofaom wreath. If you would like to make it more secure, dab a small amount of glue in the spot where you stick the pin into. To make it more festive, cut 1-1/2" squares of red, white and blue paper stock. Apply 1/2" letter stickers spelling "Happy 4th of July" or "Welcome Home" for a returning soldier. You will need a hole punch or a large darning needle to punch holes on each top corner of the squares. Choose a red, white or blue string to run throught the holes of the paper squares. Place in center of wreath and attached with straight pins on each side of the wreath. This could be a family project, it is easy and fun for your children to do.
